2. Model Reviews:
Model reviews draw on our experience of best practice excel models as well as our skills as resource analysts.
In general we review a model according to four criteria, namely:
- Checking the assumptions used in the projections.
- Checking that the methodology employed and the calculations is accurate.
- Checking whether the conclusions drawn are consistent with the opinions of key industry players as well as with the assumptions and methodologies used.
- Checking that excel best practice is utilised fully.
Having the model professionally reviewed is an important step in the investment process as it provides a “sanity check” or second opinion before committing to finance a particular project.
